Trailblazers Volleyball Team has announced the exciting addition of Gilruth Macune Benson to their roster, marking a significant moment in their pursuit of excellence on the court. As the team continues its quest for the title, Benson’s arrival promises to inject fresh talent and energy into the squad.
In a statement, Macune shared his journey into the world of volleyball, highlighting his passion for the sport that began at a young age. “I began playing volleyball because I watched my older brother playing,” Benson reminisced. “He was the star of his high school team, and I was inspired to follow in his footsteps.”
Benson’s talent caught the eye of his coaches early on, leading to opportunities at prestigious institutions such as the University of California San Diego, where he honed his skills as an opposite spiker from 2017 to 2021. His experience in the NCAA Division 1 men’s volleyball circuit and subsequent stint in the Volleyball League of America (VLA) with the Wave Volleyball Club underscores his pedigree as a formidable player.
Expressing his enthusiasm for joining the Trailblazers Volleyball Team, Benson stated, “I was thrilled to find high-level volleyball in Kenya in the KVF League and I’m incredibly excited to continue my volleyball career and contribute to TVC’s success.” His addition adds depth to the team’s lineup and strengthens their competitive edge as they gear up for upcoming challenges.
