Trailblazers Volleyball Club kicked off their 2023/24 season of the KVF National Volleyball League with an exciting 3-1 victory against long-time rivals Equity Bank. The match, played at the Koitalel Samoei University grounds in Mosoriot, was a thrilling display of skill and determination, despite some light drizzle.
The initial set saw Trailblazers facing an early setback, with Equity Bank taking the lead with a score of 25-22. However, Coach Omondi’s strategic adjustments breathed new life into the team, leading to a fantastic comeback in the subsequent sets.
The second set saw a resurgence from the Trailblazers, as they displayed their tenacity and teamwork to secure a 25-21 victory. The excitement only intensified in the third set, which turned into a closely contested battle. Ultimately, Trailblazers emerged triumphant with a 28-26 score, securing a 2-set lead.
Determined to level the set scores, Equity Bank stormed into the fourth set with a 4-0 lead. But Trailblazers had other plans. They made a spectacular comeback, reversing the scores and establishing a commanding 19-13 lead at one point. The match concluded with a resounding 25-20 win in the fourth set, sealing the deal for Trailblazers.
The triumph in the season opener is sure to boost Trailblazers’ confidence as they continue their journey in the 2023/2024 season of the KVF National Volleyball League.
