Reporting from Kigali, Rwanda

Day 3 of the FIVB Level II coaching course in Kigali has been intense, with the program running from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, packed with high-level theoretical and practical content. Our instructor, Mr. Johan Huber, brought invaluable experience from both indoor and beach volleyball, sharing knowledge gained from years of practical involvement in the sport.

The training has been an eye-opener, especially on aspects of volleyball that are often neglected, particularly in countries where advanced training materials and facilities are scarce. Mr. Huber emphasized the importance of mastering the basics, while also equipping us with advanced techniques crucial for player development. This holistic approach is essential for shaping the next generation of coaches and instructors.

As young coaches, it’s crucial to seize every opportunity to upgrade our skills and knowledge. Volleyball is evolving rapidly, and staying ahead means continuous learning and adapting to new trends. The insights we’re gaining here will undoubtedly help us raise the level of play and coaching in our respective regions.

Stay tuned as we continue to progress through this transformative course.
