About the club

At TrailBlazers Volleyball Club, we are all about competitive but entertaining sports. We are a professional volleyball team with players and a coaching staff with more than 10 years of experience in the sport. Our coaches train our team to reach their highest potential and to always enjoy whenever we play.

Established in November 2021, Trail Blazers joined the Kenyan volleyball top division with a men’s team. We are the most culturally diverse volleyball team in the league, with six (6) different tribes, 6 different countries, and 3 different continents. Most of our players are from the informal settlements and communities of Mathare 4A, Mwiki, Imara Daima, etc.…

We take our partners’ brand visibility seriously and take it to heights unparalleled locally, and through the sub-Saharan part of the continent.

We are the only team with a fully-fledged technical bench. We take pride in pioneering the development and empowerment of required specialist skills around sports namely: strength and conditioning experts, nutritionists, psychologists, resident medical doctors, audio/video specialists, performance analysts, and more. We also bring CSR events to the team’s communities for you.

In the season 2021/2022 we wrote history by becoming the first volleyball team to achieve the following in their maiden season:

  • Reach the playoffs (reserved for the top 4 teams at the end of the regular season)
  • Finish 3rd at the end of the playoffs (1 point behind number 2 [KPA]
  • Qualify for all Africa Club Championship (scheduled to take place in Morocco in 2023 [Dates to be confirmed]

In the process we also managed to:

  • Dislodge KDF from the playoffs
  • Dislodge Kenya Prisons from a podium finish (a feat they have been achieving for the previous 13 years)

Thus far, besides the league, we also compete in beach competitions where we clinched the title of Champions in Wote (Makueni, December 2021), and grabbed a respectable 3rd place finishing in our second outing in Mombasa, March 2022.

From reject team to star team, we have already exported local talent to an outside professional club.

We are dedicated to developing athletes of character, coaching life-long skills, and instilling a passion for the game in a positive environment. We commit ourselves to achieve the following:

  • Provide opportunities for young as well as experienced athletes to improve their volleyball skills.
