Trailblazers Volleyball Club has reason to celebrate as their captain, James Mutero, and the fast-rising middle blocker, Eugene Okello, have once again secured spots in the national team. KVF President CBD Nyaberi unveiled the 20-man provisional squad that includes these talented athletes, offering them a chance to represent Kenya on the international stage.

James Mutero, a vital part of the national team that competed in the 2023 Africa National Cup in Egypt just two months ago, is gearing up for fierce competition. He will battle it out with formidable contenders, such as KPA’s Sam Juma and GSU’s Hudson Kipchumba, for a coveted spot in the final 14. This select group will travel to Rwanda to compete in the highly anticipated 2023 East Africa Community Games scheduled to take place from December 12th to the 22nd.

On the other hand, Eugene Okello is determined to make a statement after narrowly missing the cut for the final 14-member squad that traveled to Egypt. The competition is fierce, with notable players like Shadrack Misiko (GSU), Brian Kamonde (KPA), Timothy Kipruto (Prisons Kenya), and Wilson Cheruiyoy (Equity Bank) vying for a spot alongside him.

The Trailblazers family wholeheartedly wishes James and Eugene the best as they prepare to shoulder the responsibilities of representing their country on the international stage. This is a significant milestone in their careers, and we can’t wait to see them shine on the international stage once again.
